Our monthly meeting for July was a demonstration by local florist, Sara Scott, on how to make a traditional buttonhole.
This was a really enjoyable demonstration by the lively Sarah, who had also brought copious supplies with her. She demonstrated how to make a buttonhole, along with an interesting talk, and then gave everyone the opportunity to make one for themselves. Sara and her colleague went round supporting our endeavours.
Our ladies really enjoyed this hands on activity and there was much chat and laughter. I for one found it not nearly as easy as it looked when Sara demonstrated! We then placed our efforts on a table for Sara and her colleague to judge the best one.
It was an entertaining evening everyone enjoyed. Next month we have our annual outing in place of our monthly meeting.
